Jolly Ntaba is a trained Journalist and a Communication specialist with a bias towards broadcasting Journalism and Health Communication.He is currently a Lecturer and Head of the Journalism and Media Studies Department of the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS). He lectures in Broadcast Journalism, Mass Media and Society and Communication Research Methods.His research interests are in Audience Analysis and Health Communication. Both his PhD and MA researches were on Health Communication, specifically looking at how Health Communication message development impacts on the uptake of contraceptive among Malawian rural mean.

Jolly has been a regular producer for UNICEF’s video and Audio Advocacy and behavior change multimedia products in the field of pediatric HIV/AIDS, Girl’s education, nutrition, safety nets and others.

He holds a PhD (2020) and MA (2012) in Journalism and Media Studies from Rhodes University in South Africa and a Bachelor’s Degree (2006) in Journalism from the University of Malawi.

He has 20 years of experience in the media industry having worked with the National Broadcaster, Television Malawi for 10 years and worked as an independent producer and media consultant for another 10 years. He has been teaching for the past 13 years.
